Instructions

  • Use canned chickpeas for this recipe or use dry chickpeas and soak them in water overnight
  • Heat a little oil in a pan and then fry garlic and onion over low heat until they get softened.
  • Transfer the softened garlic and onion in a large bowl. Mix them with spices and chickpeas. Mash all the ingredients so that chickpeas break down totally.
  • Add parsley according to taste and then add the egg. Mix the ingredients using your hands until you can make smooth balls. Create 6 balls out of this mixture and then flatten them to form patties.
  • Heat the remaining oil in the pan and fry the falafels on a medium heat for a few minutes on both sides so that they become golden brown.
  • Serve immediately.
