Ingredients
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 1 dash Spices, pepper, black
- 6 serving Barilla Gluten Free Rotini
- 1 spray , about 1/3 second Oil, PAM cooking spray, original
- 2 cup cup rinsed solids Beans, kidney, red, mature seeds, canned, drained solids, rinsed in tap water
- 1.5 tbsp Ground cumin
- 1 unit Bell pepper (green/yellow/red)
- 6 1 cup cremini mushrooms
- 2 tablespoon Oil, olive, salad or cooking
- 4 oz Cheese, low fat, cheddar or colby
- 8 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce, low-fat
- 1 tsp Spices, pepper, red or cayenne
- 1 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Spices, chili powder
- 2 tsp, ground Spices, oregano, dried
- 1 cloves Garlic, raw
- 20 oz Ground turkey, 93% lean, 7% fat, raw
- 2 cup, chopped Onions, raw
Instructions
- Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit / 175 degrees Celsius.
- Cook Rotini (pasta) according to packaging. Drain.
- In a bowl, combine pasta and beans.
- Heat a pan over medium heat. Add oil and swirl the pan to coat with oil evenly.
- Add mushrooms, garlic and onions in the pan and cook until they become fragrant.
- Add turkey and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add bell pepper, oregano, cumin, salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder and red pepper powder and continue to cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Add marinara sauce and bring the mixture to boil.
- Now add marinara mixture over pasta and toss to coat evenly.
- Top the mixture with cheese and bake for at least 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit / 175 degrees Celsius.
- Serve immediately.
