Ingredients
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 2 serving Water
- 1.5 cup 1% low fat milk
- 0.5 glass Sparkling white wine
- 1.5 tsp Vanilla extract
- 0.3 cup Sugars, granulated
- 3 slice Plain Butter
- 0.5 cup, halves Strawberries, raw
- 1 cup Blueberries, raw
- 1 cup Blackberries, raw
- 2 cup Raspberries, raw
- 0.1 cup Cornstarch
- 16 slice, small Bread, french or vienna (includes sourdough)
- 0.5 tsp Spices, nutmeg, ground
- 0.5 tsp Spices, cinnamon, ground
- 0.8 cup Egg substitute, liquid
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, sugar, egg substitute and milk.
- In a large tray, arrange the bread slices in a single layer.
- Pour milk mixture over the bread slices and let stand for a few minutes.
- Place a large pan over medium heat and melt butter in it. Now arrange bread slices in the pan. Allow to cook until both sides of bread turn golden brown.
- Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and butter.
- Combine sugar, cornstarch and 2 cups of water in a large pan and bring it to a boil. Continue to cook until the mixture is reduced to about 1 cup.
- Remove the pan from heat and add fruit. Stir well to coat.
- Serve fruit sauce with bread slices. Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar just before serving.
