Ingredients
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 4 leaf outer Lettuce, green leaf, raw
- 1 wedge yields Lemon juice, raw
- 1 clove Garlic, raw
- 0.25 cup, chopped Onions, raw
- 6 1/3 cup Ground round
- 0.5 tsp Spices, coriander seed
- 1 spray , about 1/3 second Oil, PAM cooking spray, original
- 2 tbsp Tomato products, canned, paste, without salt added
- 0.1 tsp Spices, ginger, ground
- 1 large Egg, whole, raw, fresh
- 0.25 tbsp Ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp Lemon rind, grated
- 4 pita, large Bread, pita, whole-wheat
- 16 slice, medium Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
- 0.25 serving Once Again Organic Tahini
- 1 container Yogurt, Greek, plain, nonfat
- 0.5 tsp, whole Spices, fennel seed
- 0.25 tsp Spices, cinnamon, ground
Instructions
- Set the oven temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit / 200 degrees Celsius.
- In a bowl, mix onions, salt, tomato paste, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, coriander, egg, ground round and fennel seed to prepare patties.
- Divide the patty mixture into 8 equal portions and form patties of ΒΌ-inch each.
- Coat a pan with a little cooking spray and heat it over medium heat. Add 4 patties and cook until they are browned; whilst turning them occasionally.
- Follow the above procedure for the remaining patties. Now arrange the patties on a baking tray and bake them at the set temperature until they are cooked.
- To prepare sauce, mix yogurt, lemon rind, tahini, garlic, salt and lemon juice.
- Spoon out 2 tbsp of the sauce into each pita half. Top it with 2 tomato slices, 1 lettuce leaf and 1 patty.
- Serve hot.
