Ingredients
- 2 cup, chopped Onions, raw
- 8 oz Spaghetti, whole-wheat, dry
- 0.25 tbsp Spices, saffron
- 2 1 tsp Minced garlic
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 1 dash Spices, pepper, black
- 1 tsp, ground Spices, oregano, dried
- 0.25 1 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
- 0.25 cup chopped Parsley, fresh
- 1 tbsp, drained Capers, canned
- 1 1 tbsp sherry vinegar
- 2 1 oz pimiento-stuffed olives
- 1 serving 1/2 cup Sauce, pasta, spaghetti/marinara, ready-to-serve, low sodium
- 2.5 serving Beef, ground, 95% lean meat / 5% fat, raw
- 1 tablespoon Oil, olive, salad or cooking
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to directions mentioned on the package.
- Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and saute until it becomes tender. Add garlic and continue to saute for one more minute.
- Add oregano, black pepper, red pepper and saffron.
- Add beef into the pan and cook for at least 5 minutes. Add parsley, capers, marinara sauce, sherry and olives. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 15 minutes.
- Add spaghetti to sauce mixture and continue to cook for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with remaining parsley and serve hot.
