Ingredients
- 0.1 piece Orange Zest
- 2.5 cup Tofu, firm, prepared with calcium sulfate and magnesium chloride (nigari)
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce made from soy and wheat (shoyu), low sodium
- 0.25 100 ml Orange, fruit, raw, juice
- 3 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
- 0.5 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds, Toasted
- 0.2 1 cup Chopped Green Onions
- 1 tsp Oil, sesame, salad or cooking
Instructions
- Cut tofu slices in half diagonally. Place each slice in different layers on paper towels. Cover the slices on additional paper towels and keep them aside for a few minutes.
- Mix rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest and brown sugar in a pan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the mixture becomes syrupy and thick.
- Heat a little oil in a pan. Arrange tofu slices in it and saute until they become golden brown. Remove tofu slices from pan and pour vinegar mixture over them.
- Sprinkle tofu slices with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
