Ingredients
- 1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
- 1 tbsp Oil, canola
- 2 cloves Garlic, raw
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 1 tsp, whole Spices, cumin seed
- 1 pepper Peppers, jalapeno, raw
- 8 1 slice country-style bread, toasted or grilled
- 0.25 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 sprigs Coriander (cilantro) leaves, raw
- 1 pepper Peppers, hot chili, red, raw
- 1 tsp Spices, pepper, red or cayenne
- 2 tbsp Spices, fenugreek seed
- 0.5 cup Tomato sauce, canned, no salt added
- 1 cup, chopped or sliced Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
- 2 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms, white, raw
- 1.5 tsp Fresh ginger
- 1.5 tsp Spices, coriander seed
Instructions
- Add red chili, cumin seeds and canola oil in a pan and heat them over medium heat until cumin becomes dark.
- Now add ginger and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add fenugreek and onion until onion softens and becomes brown. Now add minced garlic, red pepper and coriander and sauté the ingredients for a few more seconds.
- Add in mushroom and continue to cook for at least 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, tomato, garam masala and cilantro and simmer the mixture.
- Cover the mixture and allow cooking until it thickens. Sprinkle with a little cilantro and serve it with country bread.
