Ingredients
- 10 gram Wheat flour, whole-grain, soft wheat
- 1 cup Spinach, cooked, boiled, drained, without salt
- 1 medium Egg, whole, raw, fresh
- 1 fl oz Milk, fluid, nonfat, calcium fortified (fat free or skim)
- 1 1 cup Water
- 1 tsp Vinegar, distilled
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 1 tsp, ground Spices, pepper, black
- 1 slice thin Whole Wheat Bread
Instructions
- For making creamy spinach – dry roast the wheat flour over medium heat in a skillet until lightly brown and fragrant. Slowly add milk little by little while stirring constantly to get a thick sauce, add spinach, salt and pepper mix well. Remove from the heat.
- For making poached egg – boil water to a shallow pan; add vinegar and salt reduce heat to low. Gently crack an egg in the simmering water and cook until set to desired doneness. Remove the egg from the water with the help of slotted spoon.
- Toss a whole wheat bread and spread a thick layer of creamy spinach on it, place poached egg in the center and sprinkle crushed pepper and slat on the top.
