Ingredients
- 35.01 gram Mushrooms, shiitake, raw
- 0.27 tsp Salt, table
- 1.98 cloves Garlic, raw
- 5.04 gram Cornstarch
- 0.54 tsp Oil, sesame, salad or cooking
- 1.98 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
- 1.98 tbsp Soy sauce made from soy and wheat (shoyu), low sodium
- 8.01 slice Gyoza skin
- 15.03 gram Sugars, granulated
- 5.04 gram Thai Chili paste
- 8.01 leaf outer Lettuce, green leaf, raw
- 0.99 piece Egg white beaten
- 170.01 gram Crabmeat, drained, flaked
- 0.99 tsp Fresh ginger
- 2.97 tbsp Onions, young green, tops only
- 41.04 gram Water Chestnuts
- 141.03 gram Sea Scallops chopped
Instructions
- For prepare dumplings, add garlic cloves, onions, water chestnuts and mushroom caps into a food processor. Process the ingredients until they are finely chopped.
- Now add scallops, salt, oil and ginger. Continue to pulse the ingredients until they become fine. Take a small bowl and spoon out the mixture into it.
- Then add egg and crabmeat into the bowl and toss so that they are uniformly combined.
- Take a gyoza skin and place 1 tbsp of the filling at its center. Start gathering the edges around the filling whilst leaving the top section open. Repeat the process for the remaining dumplings. Once all the dumplings are prepared, place them over a baking sheet that has already been spread with cornstarch. To prevent drying of dumplings, place a wet cloth over them.
- Take a 2-tier bamboo steamer. Line each of the tiers with lettuce leaves. Now start arranging the dumplings over the lettuce leaves, leaving a small gap between each of them. Once the dumplings are arranged neatly place the steamer lid.
- Now boil little water in a skillet and place the steamer in it. Steam the dumplings for at least ten minutes and then remove them from the steamer.
- Next up, you need the prepare sauce. For this, you need to combine sambal oelek, water, rice vinegar, soy sauce and sugar in a bowl. Whisk the ingredients gently so that the sugar dissolves completely. Serve this sauce with the dumplings.
