This recipe is amazing and can serve as a dessert or as a perfect breakfast meal for a bodybuilder. It is low in fat and high in complex carbs, fiber and antioxidants.
This recipe contains rhubarb which is extremely rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins. Its stalks are low in saturated fat, sodium and decrease cholesterol when eaten regularly. Ingredients
- 1 cup, halves Strawberries, raw
- 1 cup, diced Rhubarb, raw
- 0.52 cup Honey
- 10 gram Cornstarch
- 1 cup Oats
- 2 large Egg, white, raw, fresh
- 0.52 cup Milk, reduced fat, fluid, 2% milkfat, without added vitamin A and vitamin D
- 1 tsp Leavening agents, baking powder, low-sodium
- 1 tbsp Spices, cinnamon, ground
- 1 gram Almond Nut
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit. Grease a baking dish with nonstick oil and set aside for baking.
- Mix strawberries, rhubarb and honey (1/3 cup) in a bowl, sprinkle corn flour and toss to combine. Spread this mixture evenly in the baking dish.
- In the same bowl add oats, almonds, baking powder and cinnamon, mix to combine all the ingredients.
- In a separate bowl add milk, remaining honey (1 tbsp), egg white and vanilla extract, whisk to combine.
- Now add the egg mixture to the oats and stir well to combine.
- Pour this mixture in the baking dish, over the strawberries and rhubarb, bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown from the edge.
- Serve warm.
