Ingredients
- 2 serving Beef, ground, 95% lean meat / 5% fat, raw
- 0.5 cup Rice, brown, long-grain, raw
- 1 cup Beef Broth or Bouillon (Canned)
- 1 cup Peas, green, frozen, cooked, boiled, drained, with salt
- 1 Italian tomato Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
- 1 stalk, medium Celery, raw
- 1 tbsp chopped Garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped Onions, raw
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp Oil, olive, salad or cooking
- 1 dash Salt, table
- 1 tbsp Spices, pepper, black
- 1 pepper Peppers, hot chili, red, raw
Instructions
- wash and soak rice for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add oil and sauté onions and garlic until translucent, add ground beef and cook while stirring constantly.
- When the beef is brown add drained rice, broth, peas, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- When rice and vegetables are cooked, remove from the heat.
- Serve hot.
