Ingredients
- 9.96 serving Beef, ground, 95% lean meat / 5% fat, raw
- 0.96 tablespoon Oil, olive, salad or cooking
- 0.96 slice Plain Butter
- 0.96 dash Salt, table
- 2.04 large Onions, raw
- 3.96 cup Tomato sauce, canned, no salt added
- 0.96 tsp Spices, onion powder
- 2.04 cup, shredded Cheese, gruyere
- 0.96 large Egg, whole, raw, fresh
- 0.36 tbsp Sauce, worcestershire
- 2.04 cloves Garlic, raw
- 0.96 gram Peppers, hot chili, red, raw
- 0.36 cup Cheese, parmesan, dry grated, reduced fat
- 2.04 tbsp Parsley, fresh
Instructions
- In a large bowl add breadcrumbs, ¾ cup warm water, 2 pound ground meat, chopped parsley, salt, grated Parmesan, 1 large egg, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp onion powder, a pinch of red pepper flakes and ¾ tsp salt and combine well.
- Prepare 2-inch meatballs from the above mixture, once all the ingredients are distributed evenly. Arrange the meatballs on a tray.
- Heat little oil in a saute pan and cook the meatballs until they turn brown.
- Once the meatballs are sufficiently cooked transfer them to a tray containing paper towel so that excess oil is absorbed.
- Remove the leftover oil in the pan and heat tomato sauce in it.
- Transfer the meatballs into the pan. Cover it and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- When the meatballs are being cooked, you can cook the onions.
- To cook onions heat little butter and olive oil in a large skillet.
- After adding onions into the skillet, sprinkle little salt and pepper and continue cooking until the onions have turned golden brown and soft.
- Serve the cooked meatballs with caramelized onions hot.
