This potent stew recipe is good enough to provide you with a huge amount of protein. Lentils, sausage and green peas are the three star ingredients of this recipe, all known for their high nutritional values. Ingredients
- 1 cup Lentils, raw
- 1 serving Turkey sausage, fresh, cooked
- 1 cup Peas, green, frozen, unprepared
- 1 tbsp chopped Onions, raw
- 1 tbsp Spices, parsley, dried
- 1 tbsp chopped Garlic
- 1 tbsp Spices, paprika
- 1 tbsp, crumbled Spices, bay leaf
- 1 tsp Vinegar, cider
- 1 tsp Spices, cloves, ground
- 1 tsp Oil, olive, salad or cooking
- 1 tsp Salt, table
- 1 tbsp Spices, pepper, black
- 3 1 cup Water
Instructions
- Wash and soak the lentils in water for 30 minutes before cooking. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile heat the oil in large stock pot over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned from all the sides. Remove to a plate and chop when cooled.
- Reduce heat to low and cook onion and garlic in the same pot until soft, add drained lentils and vinegar stir and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add water, parsley, paprika, cloves, bay leaves, pepper, sausage, green peas and salt. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
- Let it simmer for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the heat and serve hot.
